We're building a new boathouse!

Our boathouse was erected in 1907 with the intention of being replaced no more than 30 years later! In August 2017 it reached the point of no return and was demolished so we could build a new, safe and accessible facility that meets the needs of our members both now and in the future.  

 

After a lot of hard work, we are now at the exciting final building  phase with a replacement new boathouse which is larger, more secure and will house our extensive fleet of boats and equipment.  We are also building a mezzanine floor to create a much-needed gym (we currently use the back of the bar area!) and changing/shower facilities, leaving the separate Clubhouse to be restored to a social centre for club activities and socials.

 

Club members old and new have been waiting for this development for some 25 years. With limited funding opportunities, we have designed a facility that is safe, practical and easy to maintain and to date we have stayed almost on budget.  The new building will be completed to a standard that will ensure future generations have a facility that is fit for purpose.
